Just Malsz shares new EP ‘U.Y.F.B’

Yonkers-raised rapper and musician, Just Malsz may not be a household name yet but he is slowly making his mark with his unique style of energetic and motivational rap. The emcee who was inspired many years ago after listening to 50 Cent‘s debut album is now charting his own path the only way he knows how. On his latest 5 track EP U.Y.F.B (Use Your Fuckin Brain), he crafts music that represents his journey as an artist while detailing a bit of his own personal growth.

The EP opens up with the punchy “Billy Bad Ass,” a record that showcases Malsz vibrant style and a somewhat memorable chorus. The track is pure bravado on wax and it also serves as the perfect uplifting record for anyone feeling down or ready to get in their daily workout routine.

On “The Heist”  he pays homage to the popular drill sound with a heavy 808 driven backdrop and a unique choppy flow reminiscent of progenitors of the sub-genre. The title may be misleading but the message conveyed is about taking what belongs to you via any means. As the project moves along, it’s only right to switch gears with the sound as he does on “Distance.” Here, Lasz takes a more somber route creating a love song that details the relationship troubles we can all relate to. From the good times to the moment that the incompatibility between the individuals become evident, he tackles it all from an unapologetic viewpoint. As an emcee, he sure sticks to his lane with his fiery flow and inclination towards upbeat booming production.

Malsz holds down the fort on this latest project and the features on the EP is limited to just Reaching NOVA who appears on the lyric dense cut “Omnipresence.”  At just 5 tracks U.Y.F.B may not fully reveal much about the man but at least we get a glimpse of what to expect if he ever puts out a full-length project.
