Luthorist isn’t waiting for no one on “If you know, you know”

Luthorist has returned with his first single since his debut album Hueco Mundo last year. The NUXSENSE member has been blazing a path in Ireland in both his collective and on his solo material, and this new track is further proof that he is one of Irelands premier lyricists.

“If you know, you know” is an ultra modern twist on an old school vibe. The boom-bap influence is clear in the drums and the percussive, string-based sample gives the track a very 90’s feel. You can almost hear the dust on the drum patterns and sample has that vinyl fuzz we all long to hear on sample flips like this.

The pen game of Luthroist which modernises the whole song. Pinpoint accurate flows and cloaked meanings galore on his verses, this song is further proof as to why Luthorist is rated as high as he his when it comes to the art of rapping in Ireland. The old school hook is nostalgic but remains as catchy as ever. He is not just a great rapper he is a solidified songwriter and knows exactly how to produce incredible songs.

With a new EP dropping on May 6th, 2020 is looking to be a busy year for Luthorist. The bars are in abundance and the hazy, noir inspired production is something to behold. I would highly recommend jumping on this wave before it turns tidal and we are consumed with it soon.
