Sam Opoku delivers on his vintage single “Stardust”

Emerging Ghanaian-American singer Sam Opoku started his foray into the music industry some two years ago and he is totally hands-on with his music. From writing to producing, Opoku admits via email that he likes to take his time with his music ensuring all bases are covered from top to bottom. On his new release “Stardust,” the young singer reimagines several musical styles from R&B, pop, 70s disco, and flips them into something new and vibrant.

“Stardust” has an atmospheric and almost spacey feel with its ethereal pads, moody synths and disco styled drums that all culminate into a rousing nostalgic jam centered around love and fleeting emotions. Opoku takes a cue from the 80s as well with the use of big stadium drum fills to give the track driving energy to compliment his smooth laidback melodies. With just a few singles under his belt, Opoku sure delivers a fresh take on the genre and we can only hope to hear more from the budding star.

Opoku is 26 years old, was born in Ghana, and moved to the USA at the age of 7.
