Punk Rockers MONTE get louder with new single “I Hate Me More”

Rising punk band MONTE just released their raw and powerful new single and video for “I Hate Me More”. The East Coast band, brainchild of singer and lead guitarist Caitlin Montclare, fuses a clever mix of nostalgic 2000’s punk energy with progressive sounds and relevant themes of today for a wild and intoxicating musical catharsis.

In “I Hate Me More”, Montclare conceived the song while experiencing the lowest of lows after a break-up during the pandemic. An aggressive and passionate headbanger, MONTE explodes with deep-seated emotions, speed, and fury. “Maybe you hate me, well, baby I hate me more,” sings Montclare, and the listener instantly feels a sense of empathy for what she’s going through. Toxic relationships and low self-esteem can be crippling, and sometimes we have to hit rock bottom so we can grow and elevate. Marked with incredible vigor and a heavy dose of vengeance, “I Hate Me More” features explosive shredding guitar, snarling lyrics and biting old school punk induced chaos. Produced by Grammy-nominated Barb Morrison, the sound is wonderfully nostalgic and masterful, carrying stride from start to finish without skipping a beat. In the accompanying visuals, MONTE finds humor in it all with a tongue-in-cheek display of life’s atrocities.

MONTE was formed in 2017 and is composed of singer and lead guitarist Caitlin Montclare, Ismael Baiz, and bassist Meghan Rose. Their sound is reminiscent of classic punk icons such as The Lunachicks, NOFX, Bad Religion, The Offspring and metal superstars Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Plasmatics. “I Hate Me More” is from their upcoming album This is MONTE.
