People R Ugly are the “Life Of My Own Party” in new single and video

Pop punk meets alt-rock four-piece People R Ugly have just unleashed their latest single and accompanying visuals. Called “Life of My Own Party” off of their label The One Records, the track is the first single of the year for the band that began in 2021 with the release of their party rock anthem “Lipstick Stains.”

“Life Of My Own Party” chronicles being let down and mistreated by a lover and finding the strength to know you deserve more. With lyrics including, “I’m life of my own party / sick of feeling sorry / sick of feeling love I don’t need at all / spoiled little brat thinking you know it all,” People R Ugly show their past lover that they won’t take sh*t and don’t need love to feel fulfilled in life.

With driving basslines, a gritty and distorted guitar riff as well as an addictive chorus, “Life Of My Own Party” is a hook filled pop punk good time. The single is reminiscent of early Blink-182 but with a cheeky and unabashedly raw delivery and modern production take.

The accompanying visuals begin with what looks to be a historic Victorian concert recital and soon cuts into modern day summer scenes of the four members all dressed alike causing a ruckus at a Southern California beach. Upsetting the lifeguards, hiding in a moving van and playing on rooftops, the band is up for a wild and good time in their latest video, further cementing the theme of the single that they are indeed the life of their own party.

People R Ugly is composed of Zak Dossi, Bill Biersy, Julian Delgrosso, and Tristan Kevitch. The four-piece formed quickly when drummer Tristian was offered a gig at a local historic Los Angeles venue and needed a full band at the last minute. Within a week of forming, the quad ended up selling out their first show and the rest is history. “Life Of My Own Party” is in partnership with Soundcloud and is their fifth single to date with more music set for release soon.
