Lubalin is continuing the rollout to his debut album with a contemplative new single, “dog.” Serving as the fifth extension from his upcoming debut album haha, no worries, “dog” brings introspective lyrics from the multi-talented singer-songwriter-producer together with a gliding production backdrop.
Lubalin had explained that he loves the single “because it’s actually secretly a sad piano ballad disguised as a big pop drum & bass song. [He] wrote it on the piano originally but when [he] was working on the album, [he] was exploring so many different iterations that I figured I’d try this song in the DnB sound that was emerging. After turning stone after stone, banging my head against it, something just clicked, and the whole thing just came to life. It went from a demo [he] almost cut out from the album twice to one of [his] favorite songs.”
The Canadian has achieved notoriety through his internet drama-inspired parody videos on TikTok. The vitality of his posts helped to land him spots on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show to name a couple. However, his social media success—of course— does not define who he is as an artist, with the multi-talented producer having released music dating back to 2020 and a discography that includes his 2022 EP, whose love.
“dog” comes on the heels of previously released singles “bullet time,” “trust issues,” “you know me,” and “just love.” And Lubalin’s debut album haha, no worries is scheduled for release on December 6.
