London-based Alté singer Tomi Agape taps producer Juls to help bring her third single “Better” to life. Rife with sparkling guitar riffs, hypnotic rhythms delivered in the amapiano musical style, the song brings out sensuality, detailing a steamy session with her man.
For the visuals, director Charlotte Toon makes use of sublime, hazy aesthetics, and performance shots that focus on Agape’s alluring style. The color schemes are very warm and switch from yellow gold to a dreamy-like blue scheme reminiscent of the 80s. The visual doesn’t do too much by exaggerating the sexiness but keeps us drawn in by the subtle style and seamless editing. It’s quite engaging and simple.
“Better” is taken from Agape’s forthcoming EP Never Gunna Be The Same due out on December 11 via Rah Boy Music. The EP is produced entirely by Juls. In case you missed it, she was featured on Santi’s “Rapid Fire” which gave her some boost in Nigeria’s Alté music scene.
