North West London-based emcee and songwriter Abby Power dives into the struggles every artist goes through on her new song “Thoughts of an Artist.” The track is a collaboration with her go-to producer Frances, The Mute who creates a somber and somewhat nostalgic backdrop as Power paints verbal pictures of her life.
The aptly titled record is a recollection of many sorts as Power takes the listener down memory lane. Touching a handful of topics from the current state of the world, self-doubt, and financial troubles, She has a poetic way of tackling these issues with a calm, melodic flow. Her evocative lyrics help emphasize the deeply rooted emotions expressed in her songwriting. It’s a far cry from a sob story but more of a powerful declaration the world.
Abby Power started out as a spoken word act but took a hiatus from music to focus on other things in her life. She currently has 2 EPs Home is where the start is, and Class of ’94, both of which were produced by Lofi Hip Hop producer duo Frances, The Mute.
