Alix Page pays homage to Frank Ocean on alt-pop single “Frank”

Eighteen year-old singer-songwriter Alix Page has released her second single ever called “Frank”—a song that deals with the trials and tribulations associated with coming of age. Earlier this year, the LA-based artist released her debut single entitled “Stripes.”

On “Frank,” Page warmly invites listeners to her diaristic world of teenage heartache. The gentle yet vibrant effort triggers utter beauty and palpable sincerity. Page exposes her youthful tendencies, but her words come off earnestly. Driven by poignant vocals and sonic waves of alt-pop arrangements, “Frank” demonstrates Page’s intrinsic knack for capturing the human spirit in three minutes.

“‘Frank’ is about a summer fling that ended before summer really started,” says Page over email. “It’s about a missed opportunity and desperately wanting more time with somebody.” She calls back to the timeless Frank Ocean track “White Ferrari” and delivers, “Where’s the white Ferrari / I wanted a ride / I wanted to ride with you, all summer long / If you let me, all summer long.” With “Frank,” Page exhibits the universal feeling of coping with unrequited love and how it’s relatable no matter one’s age or the season they’re in.

“Frank” and “Stripes” are available now on all DSPs.
