Bailey Tomkinson is inspired by Elvis on “Graceland”

Cornwall talent Bailey Tomkinson drops acoustic-led production “Graceland,” drawing inspiration from the heartbreakingcommercialisation of Elvis Presley. Led by Tomkinson’s delicate vocals laid gently over a soft acoustic soundscape, the track brims with a lulling catharsis woven seamlessly into touches of melancholic sadness.

Entirely self-produced, the track showcases Tomkinson’s evolving artistic talents, with her thoughtful song writing pulling us into a gentle sonic world we can lose ourselves in. Mixed and mastered by John Cornfield, known for his legendary work with the likes ofOasisMuseThe Stone RosesSupergrass, the reflective track is yet another notch on the rising musician’s journey.

Inspired unsurprisingly by Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film Elvis, Tomkinson further explains how the word “sonder” describing the realisation that every random person we come across is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

She says,Elvis, the narrator of my song has their own vivid and complex journey, not as flamboyant or spectacular maybe but still meaningful…so I had these two contrasting journeys and I thought it would be cool to have them intersect at Graceland.”

Breaking out in 2020,  Bailey  Tomkinson shows no signs of slowing down as establishes herself as one of the UK biggest emerging artists through a slate of performances and her ever evolving musicality of which “Graceland,” is brilliant proof.
