Houston rapper BBY KODIE had a big moment earlier this year when his track "Milkshake" went viral on TikTok, but that was just a quick highlight in what has been years of him building a cult following. He has released multiple bodies of work, and this year let loose a 43-track (you read that right) project titled Witness Greatness. His newest song and video, "Children," is undoubtedly his best to date.
"Children" is BBY KODIE playing to his strengths: it's an unquestionably hard, Southern rap song in which he oozes confidence and makes every bar more impactful than the last. He causes each line to feel like a punch, and the beat, produced by Yves Godchild, is equally as victorious. In the video for "Children," KODIE and company are largely dressed in ancient Greek attire, while he maintains his composure amidst chaos; it perfectly resembles the song's sonics. Moving forward, BBY KODIE's growth will continue to be exciting to watch, as he puts together undeniably great music that is impossible to compare.
