Brazilian icon Alok drops sixth compilation album CONTROVERSIA by Alok

Brazilian electronic music icon Alok drops the sixth instalment of his compilation album CONTROVERSIA by Alok, showcasing a myriad of genres and moods within 13 transportive arrangements.

Opening with the swirling synths and booming basslines of deep progressive production “I Feel You,” featuring Bhaskar before switching up to the sultry stylings of “ I Mean Never,” as sensual female vocals lay over an anthemic soundscape. From the club-ready stand-out “Going Out,” featuring ÜHÜ the album swerves easily into emotive offerings like “Telling,” from Tineway & Ytan and back into smooth dancefloor beats of “ U Got My Body.”

The album has several highlights including ethereal, haunting “Say Yes,” from the brilliant visually impaired artist, Nyella, the first female producer to have a solo single on the CONTROVERSIA label as well as the lush yet airy stylings of rising Ukrainian artist Scott Rill.

Alok manages to maintain vibrant cultural nuances and easy sonic versatility right through the compilation, even as penultimate production “Don’t Stop,” brings an eastern-influenced organic sound to life before closing on the wispy vocal delivery and slow-build feels of “ You and Me.”

Shining a light on the potential of the Brazilian electronic music scene on a global stage, the collaborative body of work manages to bring out individual talents of each artist featured while maintain a hypnotic cohesiveness courtesy of Alok’s expert touch.

With a long list of achievements in his career, including having the second-largest Instagram following of any electronic artist globally, Alok continues to prove he’s made for bigger and better things with each release.
