Known for his heartfelt lyrics and soulful deliveries, Col Gerrard has released his highly anticipated single “Sun & Sky.” The track marks a significant milestone in Gerrard’s musical journey, shaped by diverse life experiences and profound insights.
“Sun & Sky” features Gerrard’s rich, mahogany vocals and mellow melodies, drawing from the pop-rock greats that have treaded the path before him and paying homage to his musical inspirations—Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, and Marvin Gaye. Col also showcases the production talents of GRAMMY-nominated and Brit Award-winning producer Chris Potter, known for his work with The Rolling Stones, The Verve, U2, Keane, and Blur.
Reflecting on his inspiration, Gerrard shares, “I’ve always admired David Bowie’s ability to reach people with his music. His lyrics haven’t always had a message, but they’ve always had meaning and feeling.” Gerrard’s musical and personal philosophy is deeply influenced by his grandfather’s wisdom: never grow old, listen twice as much as you talk, and don’t wait for things to happen. “Whatever you want in life, you have to go and get it for yourself,” Gerrard explains.
