Corey Hales helps “Cool It Down” with new visual

Boston artist Corey Hales has shared a fresh new visual for his song “Cool It Down”, produced by Carter Sanders. Hales grew up playing piano and guitar, and years of refinement and experimentation led to him touring South Africa with his jazz combo years later. Now, he follows up engaging singles such as “Falling Down” and “Cherry Tree”, as well as an appearance on the 300 Entertainment Unplugged series, with “Cool It Down”- an infectious, refreshing offering suitable for the balmy weather of the waning summer months.

“Cool It Down” opens with breezy, warm guitars that create a sentimental foundation for Hales’ laid-back vocal performance. His verses build dynamically as rich bass and relaxed percussion are added to create a smooth, unhurried rhythm section. Capped off by a catchy, energizing hook that brings in synths to add sonic layers to the track, “Cool It Down” makes for an addictive summer joint.

The accompanying visual is subdued and calming, using glowing, warm lighting and easygoing cuts to capture the song’s unhurried pace and romantic sound. Depicting Hales and a live band giving a charismatic, eye-catching performance of the song, the video for “Cool It Down” does well to enhance the single’s minimalistic elegance and chilled out atmosphere.

The latest from Corey Hales, “Cool It Down” continues his streak of atmospheric alternative R&B offerings and has us excited for what may be on the horizon from him.
