Dublin singer-songwriter Ellen Arthur Blyth drops confessional debut album Nine,rooted in Blyth’s lush jazz-pop sound led by her honest, emotive vocals. With nine tracks journeying through personal tales drawn straight from her heart.

From exploring feelings of self-doubt on title track “Nine,” to touching upon her experience breaking out of her drinking habit in “God Knows,” the album sees Blyth brings into intimate crevices of her life, detailing anxieties and heartbreaks through poetic, heartfelt songwriting.

The themes of pain explored in Nine, is encapsulated further in the music video for “God Knows,” which paints a captivating image of a ballerina, her soothing vocals backdropping hypnotic visuals.

Despite feeling contemplative and moody in parts, the album’s message is actually one rooted in hope. This is best captured in optimistic track “Keep Dreaming,” crafted as a reminder to never give up on our dreams regardless of what other people think.

With a musical ambition that bloomed aged nine, Blyth’s path to her dream was littered with ups and downs from losing her voice to an early adult life spent in a drunken haze. Climbing out from rock bottom to rediscover her voice, the inspiring talent began writing her own music nine years into her recovery, bringing forth a blend of pop, indie and jazz that graced our lives as Nine.
