Chicago born and bred and now Miami based electro pop artist Emmy Adelle has just shared her debut single. Called “Over”, the singer/songwriter teamed up with acclaimed engineers Cole Kruggel (Juice WRLD, Tory Lanez) and Danny Garcia (Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo, Bryce Vine) on her recent music.
With “Over”, Emmy Adelle pens a song all about the messiness and crazy ups and downs of young love and intoxication. The extremely personal song chronicles an autobiographical narrative of a time in the songwriter’s life when she was dealing with heartbreak, loneliness and sadness. The single was written while she was a Freshman in college and is described as a “snapshot of a spark that was both intense and short-lived.” Lyrics including “It’s been three weeks and you’re doing just fine without me / And I hate to admit / I miss your midnight text,” show the raw emotions of a love gone awry. Musically, the track begins with emotive piano chords under Emmy’s confessional soul-drenched vocals. Evocative layered melodies, R&B soaked beats and mesmerizing synths add to the song’s allure. Emmy has an uncanny ability to take listeners with her on her own journeys in life’s changes with descriptive lyrics and timeless narratives.
Emmy Adelle is a multifaceted singer-songwriter, model and performer. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Frank Ocean, Odesza, and Troye Sivan, the creator makes her own brand of soul indie pop. Take a listen to “Over” now and add the song to your favorite playlist.
