Eugénie reflects on the gift and curse of being a "Princess"

After thrilling us with the trippy visuals for her single "Blue," French singer/songwriter Eugénie follows it with something new titled "Princess." On here, she tackles the sensitive issue of imposter's syndrome and looks deep within herself to find her way out of the box that people tend to put one in for whatever preconceived notions they might have. The record is bolstered with its upbeat pop aesthetics made up of a rich layered texture and Latin drum grooves that ebbs and flows as the song progresses. Eugénie sure takes advantage of this with her sublime melodic runs that weave in and out of the backdrop at will.

While many will enjoy the catchy melodies and body-moving grooves, those who listen deeply would also appreciate the social commentary in her lyrics where she bemoans the daily plight of women trying to navigate this treacherous music industry.

Since she returned from her hiatus she hasn't lost her step as she ventures into the alternative pop region using English as the main language. For those who don't know she had a hit song "Puis Danse" back in 2016 and has opened for big French names such as VianneySlimaneMarina Kaye, and others.
