Georgia Black shares "No Escape" [Video]

Indie jazz and blues singer Georgia Black ponders on the risk that comes with falling in love on her new release titled "No Escape." The heartfelt track sees her working with producer/songwriter Louis Jayy who crafts a warm and bouncy backdrop for the North London vocalist to pour her candid thoughts over. Black delivers a soul-gripping performance as she runs through the myriad of outcomes when love has taken over one's sensibilities. It's not as gloomy as it may sound as she gives an honest view of things and shows the pros and cons of being vulnerable.

The visual benefits from the DIY, offbeat aesthetic that taps into the mood of the song. Filmed and edited by Black with the assistance of Helena Coan, the visual strays from the use of performance shots and employ motifs and symbolism throughout. From the somber lighting, dark costumes, and therapeutic themes such as the artist squeezing a bin bag to finding solace in being alone. It's quite different from the norm and showcases Black's unique vision behind the camera. "No Escape" is the follow-up single to her empowering single "Curves," which was released earlier this year for International Woman’s Day.

London, UK-born Georgia Black started her career as the lead singer of showband Dirty Stop Out. She stepped out on her own and found her sound in the old blues, jazz, and soul influences she grew up with. She also participated in innovative projects like Punchdrunk's production of The Drowned Man, an immersive theatrical show.
