Gyakie shares visuals for "Need Me" [Video]

Ghanaian Afropop star Gyakie seems to be having a solid run since she released her debut EP, SEED, in 2020 and continues the momentum with the visuals for her new single, "Need Me." The Sosa-produced track has a sublime moody texture coupled with the sturdy afrobeat bounce that keeps the energy levels steady as Gyakie delivers a sultry vocal performance. She fuses English with Ghanaian Pidgin English in her love tale about sacrifice and unconditional love. Vocally, she weaves a nice fusion of high-pitched and hushed melodies to effect change in dynamics in the song and the result is ear-grabbing, for a lack of a better word.

The visual goes for a cinematic aesthetic and captures Gyakie in Tanzania by Ghanaian director Andy Madjitey and displays the sprawling beauty that exists there. From the seamless performance shots that blend with the natural scenery and expressive storyboarding, the visuals are a true representation of the love Gyakie wants and then some.

Born into a family of musicians, Gyakie has been displaying her vocal prowess in her father's studio since she was eight years old. She is currently signed to Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records UK, and Sony Music Africa and has one EP under her belt.
