After breaking their decade-long hiatus with their 2020 single “Cooler,” the LA-based indie-pop trio Iglu & Hartly are back in business with the eponymous single “Swayze”. The vibrant retro-tinged jam is an unabashed tribute to the late legendary 80’s heartthrob Patrick Swayze himself and the result is a solid summer record that takes listeners back in time. From the rousing hard-hitting drums, rich electric guitar riffs, sizzling synths and sun-soaked energy, singer/producer Jarvis Anderson captivates listeners with his catchy melodic runs, energetic persona and vivid lyrics that channel the youthful party spirit of the ’80s.
The accompanying visuals help bring the song to life with its throwback style and use of 80s-style set pieces, performance shots and clips from the classic film Dirty Dancing which splices Jarvis’ face into Swayze’s.
