Canada meets the US as producer Newselph links up with eclectic emcee James Gardin for this feel-good collaboration titled “Promise Land.” The track is a remix of Gardin’s original song and it’s a summer-tinged, soulful jam ripe with low tones, lush guitar riffs, and a steady drum groove that blends with a melodic flow and insightful lyrics. Gardin sets the mood with uplifting energy as he implores us to keep the faith and stay positive through the madness. He sure is in his element as he carries the track effortlessly with his use of varied melodic inflections and a pretty catchy chorus to boot.
The original version of “Promise Land” was released in 2017 and was also on Gardin’s 2021 compilation, The Groove Collection.
