Jayd Ink is already making waves in the music industry, riding a tidal wave of success from her recent, return single and video “Queen St”. Jayd has decided to return and offer her fans even more of her unique and infectious sound, on a three track EP entitled Catching Red Lights. With “Queen St” opening the EP, this is definitely one to listen to if her previous support is anything to go by, catching the attention of fans and industry names alike.
‘Catching Red Lights’ is a landmark EP. Featuring new tracks “Rollin” and “Stuck On Earth”, the EP is a short but impressive offering. Heartwarming synths reverberate good vibes around the track, whilst the energy is bought by catchy and groovy drum beats. The tracks nod to vintage and lo-fi sounds, making the EP a melting pot of different urban genres. However, the defining and signature part of her sound is her voice. Silky smooth, emotional and soulful, her voice is passionate and what she sings about comes from the heart, the tone paints a fantastic picture of her well-penned lyrics.
Speaking about the release, Jayd revels further: “Catching Red Lights is about slowing down and learning to appreciate the moment. During the lockdown I took the time to sit with myself, dive deeper into my thoughts, my fears and my overall well-being. It was a lot of reflection. These three songs are a combination of how I was feeling during that time.”
In 2018 Jayd Ink won her episode on the National TV Show “The Launch” where she was challenged to create a hit song in 48hrs. Ink currently has over 11.5 Million streams on Spotify alone, with the challenges of being an independent artist having inspired Jayd to build and create her own way. She has successfully collaborated and partnered with popular brands like Disney, Bacardi, Adidas, and SoundCloud proving that there are no boundaries or barriers for Jayd, only possibilities.
