Berlin-based Samantha Poulter AKA Logic1000, has dropped her highly-anticipated debut album ‘Mother’ via Therapy / Because Music. This 12-track offering blends ’90s pop, R&B, and club sounds, reflecting on Poulter’s personal journey into motherhood and bringing new female talent to the forefront.
Describing the album as her “second baby”, ‘Mother’ is a seamless fusion of genres and emotionally resonant themes from start to finish. “From Within” introduces the album with dark breaks and haunting whispers whilst the album’s focus track, “Can’t Let Go,” is a standout example of Poulter’s talent for crafting irresistibly catchy hooks and melodies.
“Promises” highlights emerging artists like Rochelle Jordan who provides soulful croons. “Side By Side’ demonstrates Poulter’s signature house groove whilst “Self To Blame” continues the depth and diversity to the album with R&B influences courtesy of Kayla Blackman. “Saint Rex” incorporates sassy 90s hooks whilst “Every Lil” ft. DJ Plead and MJ Nebreda plays with hypnotic tribal vocals along with “Grown On Me” that moves into ethereal house realms.
Alongside her debut album which has marked a pivotal turning point in both her personal and professional life, Logic1000 is advocating for accessibility in dance music. With parents, those who are sober and working people in mind, she introduces her dual podcast and party series called THERAPY. The podcast titled Logic1000 & Helena Star Present: Therapy, has started off with GRAMMY-nominated and fellow DJ/producer Jayda G.
Marking a compelling debut, ‘Mother’ solidifies Logic1000’s status as an established tastemaker in electronic music, offering listeners a rich and rewarding sonic experience. ‘Mother’ is out now, buy/stream it here and subscribe to THERAPY here.
