Multi-talent Brad Walsh delivers experimental album ‘Antiglot II’

Singer/songwriter, producer, and visual artist Brad Walsh drops experimental album Antiglot II, a sequel to his politically-charged 2017 album Antiglot. Delivering up a collection of 11 track comprised of only vocal layers and body sounds, the lyric-less production comes to life as sonic diaries that take us on a journey of emotions experienced by Walsh through travel.

Opening with meditative feels of “Derb Chtouka,” named after a street in Marrakech and the expansive orchestration of “Wimberley,” inspired by the name of a small Texan town, the album balances anthemic, feel-good numbers with soothing yet soaring instrumentation.

Infused equally with invigorating and cathartic sounds, Antiglot IImoves smoothly through a blend of soft beats and nature sounds to paint vibrant images without a single lyric. Highlights include “Hilma Swan” and “Final Swan,” which are responses to the 2018 Guggenheim showing of the lifetime collection of Hilma af Klintas well as echoing final track “Spell (Hidden Place).”

An intricately layered body of work that encapsulates Walsh’s genre-hopping sound spanning quirky electronics and brooding indie dance, the “all-around Renaissance man” recreates the innovation of his 2017 album on his latest foray, capturing emotions and experimentation in his ever-changing artistry.
