Nia Wyn feels truly “Guilty” in new single

Queer UK soul artist Nia Wyn is not green to us and in her new song “Guilty” she really comes into a full circle with a heartfelt personal tale of epic proportions. Over the mellow crisp backdrop, she details the emotional trauma she felt after being taken advantage of with boundaries being blurred, whilst trying to figure out her sexuality as a younger person. Armed with her accented and uniquely textured vocals, Nia delivers a solid performance underpinned by her past and a renewed strength to compartmentalize and find her true north as she got older. She dwells on a myriad of emotions ranging from guilt, naivety, and shame, and how she dealt with it all in her own way.

“Guilty” is taken from Nia Wyn’s new EP Magical Thinking which is the follow-up to her 2021 EP Take A Seat. The EP explores her personal experiences and strong emotions like betrayal, lust, guilt, and anxiety. Nia’s voice, and deep writing make everyone easy to relate with. Released by Unity Group, the EP arrives shortly before Nia plays Glastonbury Festival as one of the finalists of the Emerging Talent Competition. Following this, Nia plays a headline show at The Courtyard Theatre in London on 14th July.
