Perfectparachutepicture set up for their new EP with the raucous “White Walls”

With much of the world feeling at a standstill for the past year, Sheffield hailing alt-rock two-piece Perfectparachutepicture have just the track to put the fire back in your belly with “White Walls.”

Charging drums, white-knuckle guitars and stadium-ready vocals with lyrics that take aim at the ruts that you can find yourself in? Yes, please. “While we haven’t written about the previous year’s events per se, it’s hard to avoid the song’s literal meaning when we’ve all been locked away within the same four walls,” the duo share via an email statement. “‘White Walls’ is the track that you need to help you get back out there and face the world!”

Acting as the title track for their forthcoming EP, if their three singles thus far this year weren’t enough to go on, it’s shaping up to be something truly colossal.

It might be an easy comparison but with membership and a sound that recalls the likes of Royal Blood and Death From Above 1979, they also deliver on that same adrenaline-pumping anthemia, naturally in their own distinct way. The sombre vocals that softly float above the feedback and rumbling bass that introduces the track swiftly reach a piercing soar, and is delivered with an iconic level of melodious control that wholly owns the spotlight.

Even in the lower energy verses, the burly riffs maintain an electric dynamism that keeps the heartbeat of the track high and as “White Walls” slowly evolves throughout its raucous journey, it somehow manages to still reach a dizzying new plateau in the latter third of the track.

Concluding the same statement, they continue that, “’White Walls’ is a song that figuratively represents all the mundanities in life that hold you down or drag you back. We all get stuck in a rut from time to time but it’s so easy to get comfortable. Comfortable in not doing that much, and ending up thinking that you’re happy with that. The song is a reminder that we all need to look at the walls that surround us and take stock on what we might change if we had the chance to do so.”
