PleasureInc. share new indie-pop single “Croissant”

Hailing from the East of England, indie duo PleasureInc. share their new single “Croissant”. It’s an infectious gift of modern indie-pop that draws on ’90s sensibilities to create a track that has a lot to offer.

The musical brainchild of brothers Jesse and Louis Baker, PleasureInc. are a real hybrid of sound. Brimming with punchy bass patterns and addictive hip-hop homages, “Croissant” blends both nostalgia and modernity into one feel-good mix. Although titled after a delicious pastry, the single’s written about the freedom to explore without overthinking. A tasty treat for our ears and a chance for this duo shine, their jangly guitars and indie stylings showcase an attitude reminiscent of the Beastie Boys.

“Croissant was probably the easiest song we have ever written; the entire song just fell out of our heads into the computer,” the pair explain. “We were obsessed with the idea of embracing the nonsensical, specifically trying not to overthink things lyrically. ‘Tell me what you want / Feed me my croissant’ came out of thin air and just stuck, as did the entirety of the first half of the song. We were channeling Beastie Boys, De La Sol, and MF DOOM, opting for playful camaraderie based around the theme of the fake and artificial.”

Despite only being the second release from the duo, we can expect to hear a lot more from them in the future. An exciting newcomer to the indie-pop scene, PleasureInc. are exactly that, pure pleasure.
