Portland rapper Pricy links up with rapper/producer Tope for this smooth summery jam titled “Street Lights,” which serves as an introduction to those who may not be familiar with his repertoire. Pricy’s laidback demeanor and chilled flow take precedence as he seamlessly glides over the crisp soundscape with a plethora of wit and detailed bars. Tope’s silky production sure hits the mark with its subtle interpolation of Tevin Campbell‘s “Can we talk” and Pricy’s knack for painting pictures of his come uppance sure fit together like a glove.
The visuals are shot by collective films that make use of a mix of performance shots of Pricy and also quick-cut scenes capturing his daily activities with his squad around the city. The lightning and cinematic aesthetics are quite glaring on this and give it a naturally appealing feel from start to finish. “Street Lights” is taken from his 11-track debut No Game, No Glory, which is produced/mixed in its entirety by TOPE.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Pricy has long been talked about as one of the best rappers to come from Rose City. Not only a rapper, Pricy is the true definition of an artist— from teaching himself how to produce and engineer to modeling to designing his own clothing line set to drop with his new album, there’s really nothing Pricy can’t do.
