Over the last decade or so, hip-hop has started to branch off into an infinite amount of sub-genres, sparking a generation of artists that have reimagined the genre in experimental, yet brilliant, ways. One of the artists who has sprouted from this has been South Florida rapper Burgos. Known for blending elements of hip-hop, edm and punk rock together, the rising rapper has generated some hype due to his raw energy and stout lyricism. Looking to take things further, he checks back into our pages with his engaging new single, "Loaded Gun."
Produced by Branwen, "Loaded Gun," is an emotionally charged record that finds Burgos looking to address a few issues on his mind. "Slide b*tch, I'm at first base, pistol loaded who the f*ck feels brave," croons Burgos at the beginning of the record, setting the tone. One of the more interesting things about the record is the juxtaposition of the different genres. Though the production and overall essence of the track feels rooted in rock and roll, Burgos cleverly turns things around after the chorus as he delivers a verse that even the most purist hip-hop fan would enjoy. In general, the South Florida native spends the record going back and forth in his emotions, sounding volatile and emotionally charged. Harnessing that energy, he crafts a record that leaves no emotional stone unexplored and, in turn, rewards him with one of the more relatable singles of his young career.
