In a press release, Sydney shared some information about how the song was written and recorded. She said, “The way I’ve been writing all my new stuff is I just write, whatever I truly feel. I wrote about my first hand experiences. One day I was just sitting in my bathtub and started writing the hook. I held onto the hook for about a year before I heard the beat made by Os Crowley, and it was like the beat was made for my hook. I wrote the rest of the song and contacted my studio and recorded it! It was a song that came really naturally, and I’m proud of it.”
