The Trills ring in the season with their festive new EP 'Like It’s Christmas'

With Hanukkah already underway and Christmas getting closer, it is definitely a time for getting into the spirit and blasting those holiday tunes. The Trills have created the ultimate holiday EP to drink hot cocoa and hang your stocking to. “Like It’s Christmas” features all your classics like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr Grinch”, but with their own unique twist.

Opening with a thrilling mashup of “Carol of the Bells” and “My favorite Things” their pairing of both tunes meld together so seamlessly. The emotive harmonies are so in sync listeners cannot help but be completely entranced. “Something in the Air” is a bubbly, upbeat tune sure to get you feeling good. They infectiously sing, “hanging around the fire when it starts to snow/bumping into someone under mistletoe.” It is lyrics like that, which instantly conjure those cozy winter vibes. We are all familiar with the famed song “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. Everyone from Mariah Carey to Michael Bublé has covered the jingle, but you have never heard it like this. This punchy rendition takes each of the member’s distinct tones and puts that stunning sound on full display. As voices beautifully blend yet also shine individually, there is a penetrating power that burst through.

The Trills are an irresistible a cappella group from Baltimore, Maryland. Consisting of Nick Zuelsdorf, Kathryn Marie, Missy Melkonian, Will Damanka Jr, Leroy Hyson II, and Aaron Bayne, they are known for their flawless synchronizations and cheerful energy. The group was formed in 2015 as a student organization at Towson University and have continued to perfect their compelling sound ever since. They reveal, "The holidays can be an incredibly stressful time, but this EP reminds us (and hopefully reminds everyone) that the holidays are a time to celebrate! There's an element for everyone in these songs, and we want this to be something that people play to get into the spirit of the season.”
