Valeree “Good Days” is a hopeful anthem after a time of tragedy

Los Angeles based queer multi-faceted singer-songwriter Valeree has just shared her latest album. Entitled Interrupted, the twelve track collection is a concept album which deals with trauma and ultimate vulnerability, chronicling a story of PTSD, addiction and more. The highlight of the album is the jazz soaked soulful indie pop song “Good Days”.

With “Good Days”, Valeree pens a song all about a hopeful conclusion to battling a hard time. The track is filled with all the things the narrator did to feel better and get their health back both physically and mentally, including going to therapy, eating healthy, sleeping well etc. Lyrics including “Now I’m my priority / Yea I’m taking care of me / And I’m feeling what it’s like to be free / It’s like I am finally seeing color / In a world that was full of grey / And I don’t need anything outside myself / To feel okay,” show the healing process and the realization that no one can take better care of ourselves than we can. Musically, “Good Days” is a funky retro inspired pop song filled with jazzy keys, layered hooky melodies and passionate vocals. The chorus is sing-a-long worthy and hopeful with the listener being drawn into this joyous moment.

Valeree is a Pittsburgh born and bred artist who now resides in Los Angeles. Her brand of pop meets R&B has touched listeners around the globe. She often writes about her struggles with addiction that involved hospitalizations, rehab centers, homelessness, and jail, hoping to help others in difficult times. Take a listen to “Good Days” now and remember to take care of yourself.
