[VIDEO] Papi Shiitake drops woozy single “Mexican Moonlight” with vibrant MV

Rising Brooklyn singer-songwriter Papi Shiitake drops chilled out production “Mexican Moonlight,” the first single to be taken off his upcoming album Wabi-Sabi. With a woozy instrumental that fits right in with sunny summers, the soulful number is led by soft grooves and gentle vocals.

Written on the beaches of the Yucatan peninsula in 2020, the atmospheric single captures the warmth and comfort of nature. The accompanying music video features vibrant animation, created by enigmatic Chinese artist Sedyrung , which adds a layer of child-like wonder to the laid-back sonics.

Speaking of the track, the emerging act said, “Writing on the beach is one of my favorite things to do. The rhythm of the ocean is very inspiring to me. There happened to be a full moon the night I was writing the Mexican Moonlight. I honestly felt like I was writing the song with the moon herself. It was absolutely magical.”

An intensely chill offering rooted in trademark artistry of lush and easy flowing soundscapes, “Mexican Moonlight,” is a hypnotic sneak peek at the upcoming record, Papi Shiitake has crafted a space for himself in music as an act to watch.
