Xavi B* is a Recording artist, actor, and poet from Carson, CA who is currently based in New Orleans. He is an independent artist who runs his own label iiiNTELLEKTual Entertainment, where he releases music on his own accord. His latest effort, titled “the persistence of memory…”, is a reflective track that explores the dark crevices of the rapper’s mind as he tries to reconcile his past in order to move on. Bolstered by a jazz-infused lo-fi backdrop, he runs through his own issues from depression, self-doubt and failures in a candid manner. His lyrics are quite revealing and somewhat self-deprecating as he takes steps to cleanse himself of the past memories that might be holding him back.
This track feels more like a diary entry than a song as listeners deep dive into his troubled mind.
