Emerging rapper and singer Zandra Kaye‘s single “Know Your Roll” is about taking chances with confidence. She has that attribute in abundance as she delivers a solid performance that shows her versatility as a singer and emcee. She is stress-free, self-aware, and taking control of her choices.
“Know Your Roll” is a feel-good track that harkens back to the 90’s with its boom-bap styled drums, while the lush instrumentation (courtesy of WifiOG) keeps it steeped in the present. From the jump, Kaye stays in the feel-good zone and gives the listener a glimpse into how she operates on the daily.
“Know Your Roll” is Kaye’s third video and was shot by her longtime collaborators Robby Bryant, Nsami Aarons, and LJ Avalos and directed by herself. The video follows the feel-good theme with a somewhat zany approach with its DIY styled shots and freewheeling energy. From shopping with her crew to an all-ladies party or a fake phone camera shoot, Kaye is just soaking up her life experiences without any pressure from the outside.
