Following a successful run of releases from UK producers James Hurr and Loz Seka, STBAN, the visionary founder of FLAMENCA Records, has returned to his own imprint with a brand new single. Titled ‘Habibi,’ the track was released worldwide on April 10th and serves as a testament to the label’s commitment to high-energy, culturally rich electronic music.
‘Habibi’ is a masterclass in Afro-Latin House, blending intense percussive elements with a sophisticated production style. To bring this vision to life, STBAN collaborated with two prominent figures in the Spanish music scene: the acclaimed DJ and percussionist Javi Torres and the versatile singer and DJ Alba Dreid. The resulting track is a formidable dancefloor weapon, characterized by its fusion of Arabesque vocal textures, intricate instrumentation, and a relentless, thundering bassline.
Javi Torres has built a reputation across southern Europe and Latin America for his explosive sets, which are uniquely enhanced by live percussion integrated directly into the mix. His work has garnered support from industry heavyweights including Martin Garrix, Alok, Jamie Jones, and Roger Sanchez, among many others. Complementing this energy is Alba Dreid, who rose to prominence following her success on the RTVE program ‘La Bien Cantá.’ Her artistic focus on bridging Spanish folklore with contemporary electronic music aligns perfectly with the mission of FLAMENCA Records, making this collaboration a natural and powerful evolution for the label’s discography.
