Fuse Audio Labs Unleashes Tube Lab Retro Channel Strip Plug-In

Fuse Audio Labs has officially released the Tube Lab Retro Channel Strip plug-in, now available for both Mac and PC. This new software offering is designed to emulate the warmth and character of analog hardware by integrating a multi-tube preamplifier, a three-band Baxandall-style equalizer, and an optical leveler into a single, cohesive workflow.

Unlike traditional fixed-path processors, the Tube Lab stands out by allowing users to reorder these three core modules both visually and within the internal signal path. This flexibility enables producers to customize the flow of their audio signal to suit specific creative needs, whether they are working on individual instrument tracks or full group stems.

Advanced Tube Emulation and Dynamics

The tube amplifier section is a highlight of the plug-in, featuring five selectable vacuum tube types: 12AT7, 12AU7, 12AX7, 6DJ8, and 12DW7. Each model provides distinct levels of headroom and harmonic saturation, offering a spectrum of sound that ranges from subtle, warm coloration to aggressive, driven distortion. Complementing this is an optical leveler that includes both classic and modern modes, alongside an optional automatic gain control (AGC) function for consistent, musical results.

The three-band Baxandall EQ is specifically tuned to shape tone in broad, musical strokes, encouraging instinctive adjustments. By allowing the EQ and compression to be reordered, the plug-in provides a hands-on experience that feels natural for gain staging and tone shaping.

Internal routing allows EQ and compression to be reordered as needed.

Whether you are processing vocals, bass, guitars, drums, or keys, the Tube Lab is designed to excel wherever weight, density, and authentic tube character are required. The plug-in is available now for $69.
