13130 Space Project have joined their own Seclusion roster with an explosive new three-track EP, including a remix from one of the underground’s most enigmatic characters, Blaktony. A newly-launched French label, International Problem marks the second release for Seclusion; with their inaugural release from Detroit’s HLX-1 doing the rounds, there are no doubts this release will follow closely.
The EP is headed with two original tracks from 13130 Space Project — the moniker of Seclusion founders, Damien Lapéna and Anouar Hemissi — “International Problem” and “Kismet”. “International Problem” offers a cut of mind-warping, cosmic techno that blurs the line into electro territory. Bustling with futuristic sounds and alien-esque moments, juxtaposed against a four by four bassline, it’s a track designed to tear apart the dancefloor. Muffled vocals add an eerie edge, adding the perfecting touches to the track. The second original, “Kismet” takes things back to basics, pairing a rolling bassline with entrancing vocals to create a track that’s going to stand the test of time. Radiating huge Berlin vibes with just a little extra spice, 13130 Space Project’s take on techno leaves us excited about what’s to come.
The EP is completed by Blaktony’s Global Issues remix of "International Problem". Short but sweet, the remix chops things up to take things to an electro-heavy level. Bassy breakbeats make this one a straight-up body popper; if it doesn’t have you dancing, then that’s on you. So much fun it could easily be a standout on an extremely strong release. Bar the cosmic melodies, it's difficult to distinguish that this is the same track; as far as remixes go, what more could you ask for?
