Veteran UK rapper and producer AKS knows a thing or two about fatherhood but on his new song "Parity" he confesses that he still has a lot to learn but is putting in the work to be the best dad ever. The self-produced (under the producer name #3Letters) track sees AKS crafting a soothing and somber backdrop with the assistance of guitarist Adrian Remedy, bass player Benjamin Muralt and keyboardist Charlie Stacey. AKS runs through different topics from the generational gap and differences, personal growth, and the commonality of wanting the best for your kid. AKS wears his heart on his sleeves in a truly captivating fashion. Switching up his rap flow into a bouncy melodic quickfire rhyme iteration that captures your attention, AKS speaks honestly to the pressures and aspirations of a black father.
The self-directed visual has a warm and nostalgic aesthetic and captures AKS in reflective mode while spending time with his son. AKS keeps it simple with the short performance shots intertwined with beautiful shots of the beach as he takes time out to create long-lasting memories for his son. The visual is edited by AKS as well.
"PARITY" is AKS follow up to his previous release "Up & Up (Heavens Above)." He is currently preparing to release his long-awaited third EP As Plane As Day: Departures & Arrivals, which will conclude the South London wordsmith’s long-running ‘Modes of Transport’ EP series.
