Emotive singer/songwriter and actress Casey Tutton has just shared her debut single, and it is an enthralling one. Called “Arrows”, the song meldes genres of pop, rock, folk and Americana for a soulful and raw ballad.
“Arrows” is all about the uncertainty of relationships and moreover feeling led on by someone. This highly relatable single also discusses romanticizing someone you are involved with and to the point of not being able to recognize a situation that isn’t right for you. Lyrics including, “Don’t draw your poison arrows / If you’re aiming at the sky / And not at my heart / Don’t make your road so narrow / Will you not even try / To open your heart,” show how deeply hurt Casey Tutton is that her love interest won’t prioritize the relationship. Musically, “Arrows” impresses with yearning vocals singing cathartic melodies over folk inspired soundscapes. Casey Tutton’s voice is pure and pristine with a warmth rarely heard in music today and with “Arrows”, she created a glowing acoustic folk pop affair.
Casey Tutton grew up playing music with her multiple brothers in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Trained in classical voice and performing internationally as part of an award winning choir, music became a safe space for her in her youth. In addition to music, Casey began acting, landing multiple roles in TV and film including Chicago Med (NBC) and Proven Innocent (FOX). “Arrows” is a sparkling debut for the rising artist and we are excited to hear what is next.
