David Hobbes releases potent new album ‘Searching For A Home’

David Hobbes has just released his latest album, Searching For A Home. This ten-track collection aims to capture the essence of the human experience, showcasing Hobbes’ evolution as a musician and songwriter.

Searching For A Home is meaningful project for Hobbes, with the project nearly being abandoned until a road trip through Idaho and a chance encounter with Jeff Tweedy, with his passionate views on songwriting rekindled his creativity. The title track, blending folk and rock elements, features an emotive acoustic guitar rhythm and lyrics that speak to a universal longing for belonging. Hobbes reflects, “For me, it represents a feeling that I am still searching for the place that truly feels like home.”

The album’s diverse instrumentation includes electric guitar solos, pianos, horns, strings, and backing vocals from producer Rachel Efron and AJ Hicks. Hobbes’ versatile voice, reminiscent of Ben Folds, brings each song to life with nuance and emotion. Despite the variety, Hobbes and Efron ensure every musical element enhances the song’s core, avoiding unnecessary ornamentation.

“First and foremost, I see myself as a storyteller. Every word and note is well-considered,” Hobbes says. With Searching For A Home, he hopes to connect deeply with listeners and build a community of devoted fans.
