GRAACE’s latest single “Body Language” is a mellow pop anthem equipped with bass and an infectious rhythm. This single is the Australian singer’s second release of the year after a brief hiatus to find inspiration. The accompanying music video toggles between GRAACE singing in her bedroom, skyscraper shots, and a cartoon version of the singer riding a motorcycle through the city. The coordinating visual concept is a simple, entertaining watch.
“Body Language” is an easy listen perfect for a work playlist or a living room dance party. The structured pop beat along with GRAACE’s soulful vocals creates an addictive sound. She sings, “I just wanna ride, I just wanna ride with you, driving through the night, driving through the nigh with you.” The lyrics take the listener to a late-night drive through the city with a special someone. The strong bass throughout the track makes this an upbeat bop, but the synths over the chorus provide soft electro-pop undertones.
The idea for the single came from a trip GRAACE took to Thailand. The singer was inspired by the language barrier present between herself and locals. She describes, “They were so kind and inviting, and solely communicated with me through body language as we didn’t speak the same language.” Upon her return, she began collaborating with Australia’s Hayden James to help write and produce the track.
