Mazyn returns with a new single “Honestly” which sees him infusing English and his native Arabic into the mix. The cinematic track, produced by Nar, is moody and haunting with its layered atmospheric textures and Mazyn’s heartfelt lyrics that dwell on his own flaws and insecurities. He takes listeners deep into the mix of the action, as he battles his own demons while finding ways to climb out of the doldrums. The first verse is performed in English while the second verse is in Arabic, and the result is a rush of emotions from a young man accepting the duality of his nature, and being able to live with it in peace.
Mazyn is an Egyptian-Canadian emerging hip-hop artist from Ottawa, Canada. The MC started writing raps in his dorm room as an Egyptian international student to help him cope with homesickness, anxiety, and college stress. These raps eventually turned into songs that he began to share with his friends, and within a year of releasing the music, he earned a nomination for the “Hip-Hop Artist of the Year” award in Canada’s capital by Faces Magazine.
