Brooklyn’s Middle Part is back and with one of his most infectious and powerful songs to date. Entitled “Get Fixed”, the track is the first single off of his highly anticipated debut album Disruptor.
With “Get Fixed” Middle Part turns back the clock to the early 2000s and the wild time of coming of age. Growing up is difficult and it is easy to look back at past mistakes with regret and dismay and with his new evocative single, Middle Part touches upon those themes. It also chronicles losing innocence and the difficulties of growing older when you feel like you messed up. Lyrics showcasing these themes include, “And now I’m getting older / Why’d I do me so bad.” Sonically, “Get Fixed” features fuzzy synths, gritty guitar riffs and dreamy nostalgic-rich melodies. The arena-worthy chorus is the highlight and Middle Part has effortlessly blended alt pop, with punk, alt rock, and post grunge for an enthralling collage of sound.
Middle Part is the musical project of Brooklyn based Andy Selkōw. The musician, singer and songwriter first began releasing music in 2019 influenced by Y2K and nostalgic escapism. He often collaborates with long-time friend and producer Brian Zaremba and with his new album he also brought in producer Michael Andrews. His upcoming album explores themes including depression, self-acceptance and the difficulties of being emotionally caught in one’s late 20s and early 30s.
