Singer-songwriter Soran retuns with his new single “What If”. A delicate, acoustic offering from the artist, it’s a personal and honest message of being upfront and truthful about feelings.
Taken from his EP Space Boy, the single is a glimmering heartfelt offering from an artist finding his feet in the music world. Following previous single “Tired“, the track continues Soran’s confessional lyricism, pairing his vocals with a meditative backdrop of guitars and delicate instrumentation. A free-flowing piano addition swaddles the track with warmth whilst cushioning the emotion with plush tenderness. Telling us that the track is a song that “speaks about a time that is now pretty far in my mind”, the track sees Soran taking a leap of faith by being bold with his words. “The song is about stopping the overthinking and living in the moment,” he continues.
Space Boy, as a whole, integrates Soran’s perspective of pop by navigating the genre through a new lens. It’s a reinvention of the typical pop sound that appears to be saturated recently. Soran’s successes lie with his ability to make things his own, and Space Boy is entirely his own.
Space Boy is out now via Universal Music Canada.
