Canada-based, Nigerian singer TÖME shares her first single “Nana” for 2021. The upbeat record blends Afropop with modern R&B/pop elements and the result is a bright, catchy track that showcases TÖME’s angelic vocal tone and catchy melodic runs. The track starts with an excerpt from Fela Kuti’s “Why black man dey suffer,” and switches into a lush synth-driven beat peppered by warm basslines and bouncy drums. TÖME is unapologetic with her lines and makes it clear that when it comes to being in a relationship she won’t lower her standards for anybody.
“Nana” is the follow-up to her Juno award-winning single “I Pray” which featured Sean Kingston. “Nana” is taken from her forthcoming EP DREAMS.
TÖME is a Nigerian-French Canadian Singer-Songwriter born in Montreal. She has toured with the likes of Mr. Eazi and shared stages with Wizkid and Burna Boy amongst others. She has about 3 projects under her belt; One with Self, a 5-track self-recorded acoustic EP, her first official tape; Tomesroom: Chapter 1, and her debut album Bigger Than 4 Walls. Besides making music, she also acts and made her screen debut as a lead in the short film ‘Love in Transition’
