John Summit’s debut album has landed—stream ‘Comfort In Chaos’

John Summit has freshly unveiled what might be the most-anticipated electronic album of the year. Now streaming via Experts Only in partnership with Darkroom Records, Comfort In Chaos comprises 12 original mixes, each a distinct reflection of Summit’s deep-rooted appreciation for house, techno, and their neighboring sub-genres. The album takes listeners on a sonically diverse yet cohesively sound journey, showcasing Summit’s mastery over melodic house, dissonant techno, liquid drum & bass, UK garage, electro-pop, and tech-house during the LP’s 43-minute runtime.

Opening with the album’s progressive-leaning title track, Summit then introduces a new melodic anthem in “Tears,” featuring London-based singer/songwriter Paige Cavell. Subsequently, he pivots to a new UK garage-inspired collaboration, “Stay With Me,” before re-introducing “Shiver” and “EAT THE BASS.” Comfort In Chaos includes seven brand new original tracks. Aside from the aforesaid newbies, “comedown” follows “EAT THE BASS” as one of the album’s slower inclusions, clocking in at 122 beats per minute. After a hypnotic palette cleansing, Summit jumps into peak time Kaskade-assisted techno before, among “Where You Are” and “Go Back,” premiering the album’s remaining newcomers: “Give Me Anything” with Elderbrook, “Undo” with KOATES, and an 84 BPM breakbeat track with venbee, “palm of my hands.”

At 29, John Summit has endured some massive accomplishments, including a recent sold-out headline show at Madison Square Garden. With his 30th birthday on July 29th and an ongoing tour, there’s much to celebrate on top of Summit’s groundbreaking new album.
