Canadian glam-rock Art d’Ecco tells the tale of obsession on “Palm Slave”

Canadian glam-rock musician Art d’Ecco weaves a cautionary tale about obsession on uber-groovy anthem “Palm Slave,” led by rich guitar-led soundscapes with touches of hazy synths broken up by lacerating rhythms.

With a slow-build feel elevated by a wispy yet strong vocal quality, the track is a hypnotic anthem delving into a relatable misguided search for meaning and purpose in life, but getting too obsessed and going down unsavoury paths. The dark tinges of the production’s message peeks through the instrumentals, working as a warning even as the anthemic sounds get our feet tapping.

Accompanied by a static-infused music video that begins by simply the icy blonde singer-songwriter as a floating head, the trippy and foreboding vibes of “Palm Slave,” is given an extra of punch of eeriness.

The concept of the music video continues to pull from the innovative theme of previous albumIn Standard Definition , which led us through the world’s obsession with celebrities, by presenting the visuals “Palm Slave,” with detached sense which makes us feel like we’re on the outside, looking in.

With a new album on the way, the earthy yet smoothly polished track serves to build up anticipation for everything we’ll get from Art d’Ecco in the near future.
