I found that pretty hard to believe because even though I might appear super confident, I felt misunderstood and insecure about not fitting in – all the time. Enemy is an energizing and fun song but when you have a closer listen you’ll hear it’s about exactly those insecurities. I never realized (till much later) that this girl in my class was actually jealous and it was her jealousy and envy towards me that made me think there was something wrong with me, while actually she was just manipulating people into hating me. She made it her mission to put up the whole class against me, calling me the enemy while she was the one stabbing my back.”
