Stockholm, Sweden-based singer/writer/producer Jonah Nilsson, who is also the lead vocalist for the band Dirty Loops is on a solo mission as he releases the visual for his latest single, "Diamond Ring." The self-produced track is a mix of pop, funk-soul, and R&B with Nilsson's own distinct retro-twist and it also features legendary guitarist Steve Vai.
The record displays Nilsson's vocal range and knack for crafting catchy melodies as the singer delivers the goods in excess. His stylings are reminiscent of Michael Jackson's Off The Wall days as Nilsson channels a bit of the king of pop in his vocal inflections. “Diamond Ring” also features keyboardist Kristian Kraftling, Jesper the Creator on the guitars, drummer Kefa Figaro and Tobias Grenholm on the bass.
The visual harks back to the past with an 80s styled concept that focuses on the singer and his entire band doing what they do best. Viewers expect a plethora of performance shots that capture the raw energetic performance in every way imaginable. Another thing to look out for is the solo by Steve Vai as he steps out to show why he is one of the greats and a quick cameo by the one and only Quincy Jones.
“Diamond Ring” follows Jonah’s recent cover of the Michael Jackson classic, “Bad.” He is currently under Quincy Jones' management who discovered him through his works with Dirty Loops. They are currently working on his solo record, due out later this summer. "Diamond Ring" is written By Jonah Nilsson and Eli Teplin.
